Extending the Loan Period

Your library account contains the overview “Borrowed media and extensions”. You can extend the loan period yourself online, but only if the medium has not been reserved.

Please note that the new loan period begins on the day you extend the loan – not at the end of the original loan period.

Extensions are not possible on

  • reserved media
  • semester loans
  • locker keys

You cannot extend your loan on the last day of the loan period either

or

  • If your library account is blocked
  • If the loan period has already expired.
  • Your library account is charged with fees.

After the fourth extension, a further extension is only possible upon presentation of your library card at the Service and Information counter, by or by phone.
