Extending the Loan Period

Your library account contains the overview “Checked Out Items”. Provided that a renewal is possible, you can renew the loan periods for your items here, or contact the Service and Information team in person, by telephone or by email during service hours to arrange a renewal.

Please note that the new loan period begins on the date of renewal – not at the end of the original loan period.

Extensions are not possible on

  • reserved media
  • media whose loan period has already expired
  • locker keys
  • interlibrary loan media where the supplying library does not allow renewals
  • media that have already reached the maximum number of renewals

or

  • if your library account is blocked
  • if your membership has expired

Books owned by the ULB can be renewed a maximum of five times. If you require items for longer than this, you must return them and borrow them again. Interlibrary loans may be renewed a maximum of twice, subject to the lending library’s approval, and may not be re-borrowed.

If you are unable to log in to your library account or are unable to renew items due to technical problems, please contact the Service and Information team immediately. If you only contact the ULB after late return fees have been incurred, you will be required to pay them in full.
