Retrievals

Media that are available to borrow will be placed on the collection shelf for you. Items that cannot be borrowed are available at the Service & Information desk or in the Research Reading Room. We will notify you by email when the items are ready for you or if they cannot be collected from your chosen collection point.

The following information does not apply to orders placed on public holidays or when ULB is closed.

between 11:00am and 01:00pm	from 03:30pm the same day
between 01:00pm and 03:00pm	from 05:00pm the same day
after 03:00pm	from 09:00am the next working day from 10:00am the next working day in the research reading room

Orders placed on Friday afternoon or at the weekend cannot be collected or viewed until Monday. If you need any items at the weekend, you should therefore place your order by Thursday evening.

Orders from the backstock collection are available with a delay.

Retrievals from historical stacks

Media that are over 100 years old or require particular care will only be available in the Research Reading Room at ULB Stadtmitte. This applies mainly to manuscripts, incunabula and old prints such as volumes from the large folio collection (gr. fol.) and rare or bibliophile editions from the Rare Books Collection (Ro, Rf, Rfm).

For reasons of acclimatisation, old stock can only be seen 2 days after ordering. TheResearch Reading Room has special rules of use and opening hours.
