Memberships and initiatives to promote Open Access

ULB Darmstadt promotes Open Access (OA) through the following memberships and by supporting various initiatives.

Memberships

The DOAB lists OA monographs worldwide and provides its members with metadata in various formats, COUNTER statistics and usage reports.

ULB supports the DOAJ as a directory for pure Open Access journals and as a means of quality assurance.

The OAPEN Library is a platform for OA monographs (with peer review) from numerous publishing houses.

OBP publishes scholarly OA monographs. Thanks to the membership, the publications are available to ULB and its users free of charge in all digital formats. A discount is granted on print editions of the works.

The non-profit organisation OLH supports Open Access publications without article processing charges (APC) and enables the publication of scientific journals on the Janeway platform. The journals supported by ULB (TUjournals ) are also published on Janeway.

OpenCitations is an open collection of bibliographic and citation data.

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor iD) is an international standard for author identification. The consortium promotes the establishment of ORCID at German institutions.

This initiative makes scientific publications in the field of high-energy physics accessible in Open Access (journals and books).

The USENIX Association organises conferences, publishes research results and supports communities in the field of computer science and information technology.

Hosting of Open Access Journals

ULB supports the publishing of Open Access journals and publication series with its free TUjournals service if at least one of the publishers is a member or affiliate of TU Darmstadt.
