University library of TU Darmstadt with the locations ULB Stadtmitte – ULB Lichtwiese – ULB Schloss

The library provides members of the TU and the population of south Hesse with printed and digital literature and information for research, teaching and studying purposes. It promotes information literacy, provides publishing services and offers learning space for over 1,000 people.

Research library for issues concerning information transfer and infrastructural aspects of data science and digital humanities in cooperation with university research, based on the library's digital collections and rich historical holdings. In this context, retro-digitisation, the digital edition and research data are all of key significance. As a conservation centre, ULB researches and arranges general aspects of restoration and conservation and provides advisory functions, in particular for Hesse institutions.

State library for the population of Darmstadt and south Hesse as well as for training and research institutions, authorities, cultural institutes and companies located here. The library operates a diverse cultural programme. It organises exhibitions, lectures, readings and other events, and develops new participatory forms of digital cultural mediation.
