The Service and Information
team is usually customers' first point of contact. Along with many other service tasks, staff also carry out the traditional user tasks of setting up user accounts, lending out media, booking items back in, reservations, extensions and reminders.
The tasks of the Information Literacy
team include designing, organising and carrying out tours, workshops and consultations. The team also develops e-learning formats.
The Interlibrary Loan
team is responsible for procuring and providing media and essays that are not available in the ULB and which can be requested from other libraries. To this end, it maintains close contacts to interlending libraries in Hesse, Germany and worldwide.
The Digital Publishing
team houses all the tasks from the field of publishing: Open Access, the Open Access Fund, the submission of university theses and other publication services and offers.
The Patent and Trademark Centre Rhine-Main
is the first point of contact in the region for matters concerning patents, utility models, trademarks and designs. Founders, companies, universities, patent attorneys and lawyers receive general information on industrial property rights. It also offers searches, analyses and monitoring of patents, trademarks and designs.
The European Documentation Centre
is an information and documentation centre of the European Union (EU) at the ULB. It researches, advises and provides information on all EU topics (e.g. European legislation, political measures and EU funding programmes). In addition, a wide range of publications and media on the EU are available in the EDC.
