Retrievals

Media that are available to borrow are on the collection shelf. You can obtain stock that is not available to borrow from the Service & Information counter or in the Research Reading Room. We will inform you by email if your item is not available from your chosen issuing counter.

The following information does not apply to orders placed on public holidays or when ULB is closed.

Orders that are placed on Friday afternoon will be provided on Monday. If media are needed on Saturday they must be ordered until Thursday.

Retrievals from historical stacks

Media that are over 100 years old or require particular care will only be available in the Research Reading Room at ULB Stadtmitte. This applies mainly to manuscripts, incunabula and old prints such as volumes from the large folio collection (gr. fol.) and rare or bibliophile editions from the Rare Books Collection (Ro, Rf, Rfm).

For reasons of acclimatisation, old stock can only be seen 2 days after ordering. TheResearch Reading Room has special rules of use and opening hours.
