Zotero

Zotero is a free reference management program that is available as a Firefox extension or as a standalone version for the Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. Zotero allows you to collect, manage, quote and share sources.

How do you get Zotero?

Zotero is free Open Source software.

You can download Zotero directly from the provider's website free of charge.

Two different versions are available for installation, either as a Firefox extension to use directly in the Firefox browser or as a separate program (Zotero Standalone), which is independent of the browser.

If you want to use it in Word or LibreOffice you need to install the corresponding plugin.

  • Zotero is used to edit bibliographic data, images, graphics and tables, and to give them keywords and personal notes.
  • Zotero allows you to insert citations in your texts and automatically generate bibliographies in various citation styles.
