Publishing preprints

2021/10/19

“Preprints: Communicating research results quickly and openly” is the topic of the next Open Access Talk, which will take place on 28 October 2021 from 2pm-3pm.

Scientists, students and all interested parties are invited.

Dr. Stefan Schmeja from the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) in Hanover will give an overview of the characteristics of preprints and preprint servers, legal issues and the importance of preprints for Open Science and the “green path” to Open Access.

The lecture will focus on the following questions:

  • Which version of my manuscript may I publish? What do I have to consider?
  • Where can I publish preprints?
  • What reservations are there about preprints?
  • What role do preprints play in Open Access?
