    Dr. Hans-Georg Nolte-Fischer retired

    After 18 years of office Director General of the Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Darmstadt, Dr. Hans-Georg Nolte-Fischer, was given a retirement farewell. He will be succeeded by Prof. Dr. Thomas Stäcker, formerly Deputy Director of the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel. Picture gallery

    Working and study rooms – ULB Lichtwiese

    Reservations for the working and study rooms at the campus library (ULB Lichtwiese) will be available starting at 2 p.m. on Monday October 2nd 2017. You can find the application form under the following link. Reservations are limited, once the capacity is reached the application form will no longer be available.

    Flora Graeca Digitalis der ULB

    Die zehnbändige „Flora Graeca Sibthorpiana“ ist das einzige Exemplar des ersten Drucks in Deutschland. Nach einer notwendigen Restaurierung 2014 wurde das gesamte Werk in hoher Qualität digitalisiert.

    Seit heute gibt es den Zugang zur Flora Graeca Digitalis. Sie erlaubt es, die Flora Graeca nicht nur sequentiell zu erkunden, sondern über ein semantisches Netzwerk.

    200 years of public access

    200 years ago, on 15 September 1817, the court library of the landgraves of Hesse-Darmstadt opened for the general public for the first time. According to the will of the landlord grand duke Ludwig I, knowledge and learning should be made accessible to an audience as wide as possible.
