Anniversary conference: 10 years of DHd AG Digital Publishing
2024/08/29
Invitation to the conference ‘Reputation without paywall? Scientific publishing in the digital change’ on 08 and 09 September at the ULB. Registration deadline until 13 September.
Academic reputation, a central topic of intra-academic discourse, is the focus of the upcoming conference to mark the tenth anniversary of the Digital Publishing Working Group in the Digital Humanities Association. The event is dedicated to the critical examination of the generation, perception and attribution of reputation in the context of academic publishing.
Contributions by Birgid Schlindwein, Ben Kaden, Gerhard Lauer and others analyse established mechanisms of reputation accumulation, discuss the effects of the open access transformation on scientific reputation, and debate questions such as whether established bibliometric procedures can and should serve as quality characteristics. It thus offers an excellent opportunity to analyse the complex interdependencies of digital transformations with essential elements of science as a social system.
Registration for the conference is still possible until 13 September.
