A National Service for Data Management Plans

2024/04/17

The ULB coordinates the development of the DMP4NFDI service.

Data management plans (DMPs) are a basic tool for research data management. They support researchers in planning their data management and document how they generate reusable data in order to meet the requirements of funding agencies.

The ULB has been offering the service TUdmo for several years, which is based on the open source software RDMO, and already used by hundreds of researchers to create a DMP. In the new project DMP4NFDI the ULB will support other consortia within the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) with hosting and customization of RDMO.

The multi-client RDMO developed for the Hessian Research Data Infrastructures (HeFDI) and used for years by universities, universities of applied sciences and other research institutions in Hesse and from partner institutions within NFDI4Ing, serves as a model for this new service. The project is led by ULB Darmstadt and realized in cooperation with UB Aachen and ZB MED.
