Flood aid: Emergency materials for municipal archive in Stolberg

The stocks held in the municipal archive in Stolberg have been severely damaged by the recent flood in North-Rhine-Westfalia. In facebook the archive has pledged for more helpers and materials to rescue the soaked and silted books and documents and to render first aid.
The ULB Darmstadt packed 30 kg supporting materials from its own emergency stocks to help the archive in Stolberg quickly and unbureaucratically. We hope that the archive, with the aid of many helping hands, is able to freeze its stocks as soon as possible and so safe the memory of the town. Our thoughts are with the victims and surviving dependants. We wish them much strength for the reconstruction.
Such a large-scale desaster again shows the importance of being prepared for emergency cases.
