Cultural Hackathon „Coding Da Vinci Rhein-Main“ successfully completed

2018/12/10

After five weeks, on 1 December the first cultural hackathon “Coding Da Vinci” endet with a festive awards ceremony in the State Museum at Mainz. The ULB supplied the data and organized the competition.

The digital data from museums, archives, libraries, and other collections which were introduced at the kick-off meeting at end of October lead to 16 creative projects, six of them were honoured. The prize of a public favourite gained “Monster Melodies”, a game in which the brave hero Bartholomew has to tame biblical monsters from the Martinus-Bibliothek Mainz with the help of melodies from the digitized autographs of the symphonies by Christoph Graupner owned by the ULB.
