The Center for Digitization has uncovered another treasure of the Historical Collections which can now be admired in the internet: The “ Hortus semper virens ” – the eternally blooming garden – is a botanic reference book published in 1804 in 77 volumes with exquisitely coloured picture plates and detailed descriptions of plants all over the world. Each plant is given two pages in text and illustration. The copy which has been digitized was dedicated to Grand Duke Ludewig I. of Hesse-Darmstadt.
