The European Commission has put forward its proposal for a major recovery plan for Europe “Next Generation EU”.

The EU has established the coronavirus response team. The European Commission is playing a coordinating role helping member states in their response to the outbreak of COVID-19. It is also taking action to mitigate the socio-economic impact in the European Union.

The European Parliament approves the UK Withdrawal Agreement. On 29 January, the European Parliament approved the Withdrawal Agreement by 621 votes in favour, 49 against and 13 abstentions.
