Pratical introduction to reasearch data management for the engineering sciences
NFDI4ING is launching “RDM Basics for Engineers.”, a new lecture series that offers a practical introduction to the fundamentals of research data management (RDM) for the engineering sciences.
What to expect
- A combination of theory and hands-on exercises
- Low-barrier entry, no prior knowledge required
- Preparation for advanced formats, e.g., the Archetypes Summer Schools
Target audience
Students, doctoral candidates, researchers, and anyone interested in research data management.
Dates
The four online sessions (90 minutes each) consist of a lecture part and practical exercises:
- 22 April 2026, 16:00–17:30 – Introduction to Research Data Management in Engineering
- 29 April 2026, 16:00–17:30 – Best Practices in Research Data Management with RDMO
- 6 May 2026, 16:00–17:30 – Metadata and Semantics
- 13 May 2026, 16:00–17:30 – FAIR Verification and Validation of Engineering Research Software
Participation is free of charge. The sessions will be held in German but can also be offered in English upon request.
