Dear users of the University and State Library,
we are pleased that we can currently extend the opening hours of the libraries bit by bit. It is very important to us that we can reliably offer you access times that are as long as possible and thus also give back some university normality in times of pandemic. Even under difficult conditions, comprehensive support and advice is important to us.
At the same time, your safety and health are important to us. Our library buildings are rooms where people come together. Therefore, we must ensure that here, as in the entire university, a safe hygiene concept is in place that is appropriate to the current state of the pandemic. Our hygiene plan was developed in cooperation with the Occupational Safety Department of the TU. In addition to many other measures, it provides for us to work with fixed teams that do not meet each other and who could also stand in for each other across locations should infection or quarantine cases arise. We have organized our duty rosters accordingly.
For you this means: At the ULB Stadtmitte access is possible daily (Monday to Friday) from 09:00am to 05:00pm (from 02. November on: 09:00am to 07:00pm), during which time all basic services are offered. In addition, teams are available daily (Monday to Friday) from 09:00am to 01:00pm for services such as specialist enquiries, advice, handling of problem cases or other procedures requiring specialist staff. The ULB Lichtwiese is open on Tuesdays to Thursdays from 10:00am to 04:00pm, during which time all services are available.
This arrangement enables us to combine safety and service. We can act flexibly if the situation requires it, and still offer you the longest possible opening hours and good service.
